Culver City : Signs at Complex Delayed

Share

The city Redevelopment Agency has delayed approving restrictions for signs at Corporate Pointe, after several residents near the 34-acre commercial and condominium project objected that they would see many of the signs from their homes.

A representative for Corporate Pointe’s developer said at Monday’s agency meeting that business signs are important for identification and marketing. He said they are a key consideration to prospective commercial tenants, who want to install signs that are visible from the freeway.

Some neighbors said they did not want signs facing their homes, and others called all signs “eye pollution.”

The City Council, sitting as the Redevelopment Agency, decided to review aerial photographs of the project.

The Planning Commission on May 10 recommended that the council approve a sign program that includes rules for signs on parapets, windows, and garages in the nine-building development at Slauson Avenue and Bristol Parkway.
