W. T. (Bill) Grace; Founder of Candy Shop Chain
W. T. (Bill) Grace, 82, who as a shipyard worker in World War II made candy at night with an eye to someday owning his own store, died Saturday in a Long Beach hospital after undergoing heart surgery.
Today, Helen Grace Chocolates, which he named for his first wife, consists of 12 candy shops throughout the Los Angeles area. It also markets chocolates for fund-raising groups throughout the country.
Grace is survived by his wife, Betty, two sons, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
