Balfour Gland, a standout end on the Manual Arts High School football teams of 1936-37 and who also starred at Los Angeles City College, has died of pneumonia at 71. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 9300 Crenshaw Blvd.
