Rolex Bandit May Have Struck Again

The man who shot and wounded a Beverly Hills banker during a robbery at the banker’s condominium Sunday may have been the same gunman who shot 48-year-old Andre Coffyn to death July 10 during a robbery at Coffyn’s Michel Richard restaurant in the Wilshire District, police said Monday.

Detectives noted that a Rolex watch was taken from the wife of banker Shokrollah Baravarian during the robbery in the garage of his home in the 300 block of North Oakhurst Drive and that the man who shot Coffyn was believed responsible for a series of Westside robberies in which Rolex watches were taken.

The general description of the suspect in all the robberies matches, according to Los Angeles and Beverly Hills police. Baravarian, 46, was shot in the right hand during a scuffle with the gunman.
