A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of murder in the slaying of his 14-year-old girlfriend, police said.
Eddie Hollingsworth III was being held in the shooting Thursday of Shawana Thomas. The two shared an apartment in the 4100 block of 44th Street, San Diego police Sgt. Tim Smith said.
Thomas’ body was found early Friday in a trash bin near the couple’s apartment. She had been shot numerous times with a .22-caliber weapon, Smith said.
Hollingsworth was arrested at the home of his grandmother in the 4800 block of Oceanview Boulevard, Smith said.
