Both Top-Seeded Surfers Advance to Today’s Finals at Huntington Beach
Victories by the top-seeded surfers in the men’s and women’s open divisions Wednesday advanced them to today’s finals of the National Scholastic Surfing Assn. tournament in Huntington Beach.
No. 1-seeded Craig Betchloff of Huntington Beach was one of six surfers to advance in the men’s open division. Pat O’Connell of Laguna Niguel, Joey Zintel of San Diego, Nick Brown of Hermosa Beach, Taylor Knox of Cardiff and Don Soloman of San Diego also advanced.
In the women’s competition, top-seeded Nea Post of Huntington Beach was one of six surfers to advance. Wendy Fredrick of San Diego, Jessica Little of Ventura, Rochelle Gordines of Hawaii, Robin Kropp of Manhattan Beach and Josephina Capps of Carlsbad also advanced.
