Home Depot Inc.: The Atlanta hardware retailer announced second-quarter earnings of $30.8 million, up 43% from a year ago. Sales were up 36% to $704 million. The company attributed the results to fact it had 102 stores generating sales in the quarter, compared to 84 stores operating in the year-ago period.
