The name San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery has been chosen for the veterans cemetery to be located along Interstate 5 northwest of Los Banos. Project manager Peter Yacukowicz said a Veterans Administration panel chose the name from 13 or 14 that were submitted because it best identified the cemetery with the area in which it will be located.
