Bonnie Durdy of Culver City and Mark Wendley and Jeffrey Welker, both of West Los Angeles, will compete Sunday in the Ironman Canada Triathlon in Penticton, British Columbia. Each is a member of Team Coolmax of the National Triathlon Training Camp.

Notre Dame Academy students Chrissy Boehle, Katy Kurt and Michelle Tupta were members of the Asics Tiger Volleyball Club team that finished second in the national Junior Olympics volleyball championships at Toledo. Boehle, a setter, was named an All-American.

Ryan Johnson, Kevin Held and Christopher Good, all 12 and from Los Angeles, are playing in the International Youth Soccer Championships through Tuesday in Japan. The boys are members of a team sponsored by the Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department.

Holes in one were scored at Penmar Golf Course by Arbie Peacock of West Los Angeles, Alfred Kuffel of Santa Monica and Dave Lindsay of Venice and at the Rancho Park nine-hole course by Ruth Todd of West Los Angeles and David Jones of Santa Monica. Brigitte Trowbridge, a former club champion at Penmar, shot an eagle there.

Stan Funk won the championship flight and George Lillie the handicap flight in the Penmar Men’s Golf Club’s match play championships. Funk defeated Dick Park, one up, and Lillie edged Leonard Wax by the same score.

Susan Stevens of Beverly Hills and Ben Serkin of West Los Angeles were gold medalists in masters tennis in the 13th Maccabai Games at Tel Aviv, Israel.

Stevens, coach of the girls tennis team at Beverly Hills High School, defeated Judy Marsh of Studio City in the women’s age 45 singles final, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4, and teamed with Andi Polinski of Los Angeles to win the 45 doubles over Sue Freeman of Milwaukee and Marsh, 3-6, 6-4,6-3.

Serkins and Paul Cranis of New York won the men’s 50 doubles final.
