Venezuelan President Carlos Andres Perez, in office for just six months, reshuffled his Cabinet, replacing seven officials including his foreign minister. A government spokesman told reporters that the new ministers include Reinaldo Figueredo as foreign minister, replacing Enrique Tejera Paris. He said they will take their oaths at the presidential palace today. Analysts said Figueredo, who has a closer political relationship with the president than Tejera, will help Perez raise Venezuela’s profile abroad. Other new ministers were named for the agriculture, transport, family affairs, health, labor and presidential secretariat posts.
