133 Acres Burn in Canyon Country
A fire apparently started by a lighted cigarette blackened 133 acres of brush north of Canyon Country on Tuesday but did not threaten houses, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
One firefighter suffered a minor hand injury in the fire that started about 5 p.m. near the 18700 block of Goodvale Road, Capt. Derek Reyna said. The fire was controlled at 6:40 p.m., he said. It was not known who discarded the cigarette believed to have started the fire, he said.
