Browns running back Kevin Mack pleaded guilty today to an amended charge of using cocaine on June 28.

Mack, 26, was indicted July 10 on charges of cocaine possession and sale, aggravated drug trafficking and possession of criminal tools--the car in which he was arrested.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Richard J. McMonagle said he would sentence Mack after receiving a pre-sentence parole and drug dependency test.

The judge said Mack could face a sentence of up to 18 months and a fine of up to $2,500.

Prosecutors appearing before McMonagle said the original charge of possession and use was amended to cocaine use. He said the amended charge was based on a police investigation.

Prosecutors said the three other charges would be dismissed.

Mack was arrested while he was inside a car parked on a Cleveland street. Police said they found 11 packets of cocaine valued at $50 each inside the car.
