La Habra : Police Car Strikes, Injures Pedestrian
La Habra police officials are investigating an incident in which a police patrol car struck and injured a pedestrian in a crosswalk Saturday night, police officials reported.
Elias Castro Barbosa, 57, of La Habra, was taken by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in stable condition late Sunday.
The incident happened at 9:20 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Avenue and Euclid Street. According to police reports, Officer Jeffrey Balos struck Barbosa as Balos was swerving to avoid another pedestrian who had stepped off the curb.
The officer is remaining on duty pending an investigation.
