Motorcyclist in Wrong Lane Hits Car Head-On
A 19-year-old Burbank man was in critical condition Sunday after an accident in which he drove his motorcycle onto the wrong side of the road and collided with an oncoming car, authorities said.
William Rene Zefuentes was driving west in the 10600 block of Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood about 8 p.m. Saturday when his motorcycle crossed into an eastbound lane and hit the oncoming car, said Los Angeles Police Officer James Currie.
Zefuentes, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered massive head and chest injuries. He was being treated at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, a hospital spokeswoman said.
There were no other injuries, Currie said. The cause of the accident was under investigation, he said.
