Kings Win, 6-4, on 2 Goals by Kudelski

Bob Kudelski scored two goals and linemate Craig Duncanson had one in the Kings’ 6-4 exhibition victory over the New York Rangers before 13,168 at Riverfront Coliseum Saturday night.

The line of Kudelski, Duncanson and Hubie McDonough has had two solid showings. They played for the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate at New Haven, Conn., last season.

Larry Robinson, playing for the Kings for the first time since leaving the Montreal Canadiens to sign as a free agent, had assists on both of Kudelski’s goals.

Backup goalie Mario Gosselin went all the way for the Kings, stopping 33 shots. John Vanbiesbrouck started in goal for the Rangers, but he gave way to Bob Froese in the second period.

King Notes

The Kings will take a 1-0-1 exhibition record into their game Monday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Cleveland. That game will be televised on Prime Ticket at 5 p.m. and broadcast, delayed until 6 p.m., on KLAC radio. . . . King Coach Tom Webster has indicated that rookie goalie Robb Stauber will be in goal Monday.
