Due Soon Wins by Nose

Michael Lane’s lightly raced Due Soon held off a relentless drive by Go Royal Beduino to win by a nose in a swift 17.88 seconds in the featured fifth race at Los Alamitos Race Course Thursday.

Due Soon gave jockey Danny Cardoza his second win of the evening. The sorrel Merridoc gelding lead every step of the way, but needed all his speed to hold off the late-charging Go Royal Beduino. Go Royal Beduino, fifth early, closed over the final 100 yards, but came up just short.
