Lionel Aldridge, a former Green Bay Packers star who wound up homeless and begging for food because of schizophrenia, has asked New York state to devote more money to the mentally ill.
Aldridge told about 100 picketers at the state capitol in Albany that voices and hallucinations drove him from the broadcasting job he held after retiring from football.
