LOCAL : Lone Gunman Flees With $290,000 in Holdup at La Palma Bank Branch

A lone gunman held up the La Palma branch of the Bank of America this morning, making off with $290,000 in cash.

La Palma police said the robber entered the bank at 9:25 a.m. brandishing a dark-colored handgun and demanding money. After bank tellers handed over the cash, the bandit fled in an imported brown sedan according to witnesses, police Sgt. Jeff Kirkpatrick said.

Witnesses described the robber as a male between 28 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 5 and weighing 160 pounds, with dark brown clean-cut hair.
