CS Long Beach Seeks Its First Big West Victory
Cal State Long Beach, with a long list of injuries, will play University of the Pacific in a Big West Conference football game tonight at 6:30 in Stockton.
Long Beach will be without Derek Washington, its top wide receiver, and Dave McKinnon, its best offensive tackle. Washington suffered a shoulder separation and McKinnon a broken leg during last week’s 52-0 loss to Fresno State.
At least six other 49ers are injured, among them Kelly Ryan, the team’s second-leading receiver, who has a shoulder separation.
Long Beach is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Big West.
Pacific (0-4, 0-2) lost to San Jose State, 41-32, last week. The Tigers have given up an average of 40 points a game.
