USAir, Pilots Reach Agreement: USAir Group Inc. said it reached a transitional agreement with the Air Line Pilots Assn. that specifies flying hours, scheduling and job bidding rights for the airline’s 5,800 pilots. The agreement covers pilots who joined USAir in its August merger with Piedmont Aviation as well as those who flew for USAir previously. The agreement also puts USAir and Piedmont pilots on one seniority list, said Chris Beebe, a spokesman for the Pittsburgh chapter of the pilots union. The agreement takes effect Jan. 1 and will remain in place until a comprehensive contract is settled, USAir spokesman John Bronson said.
