A routine traffic stop led to two arrests in connection with the slaying of a 19-year-old man who had accompanied two men on a test drive in North Hollywood of his 1973 Datsun 240Z, which he had been trying to sell, authorities said today.

The men were arrested late Thursday in West Los Angeles after officers pulled one of them over, said police Lt. Ron LaRue. Officers then discovered its license plates had been switched, LaRue said.

“The vehicle was in fact taken during the murder-robbery of Richard Davis,” he said.

LaRue said officers arrested Kent Derek Parrish, 21, and later took into custody Ronald Lewis Fort, 20. Both were being held without bail. A handgun believed used in the murder was also recovered.
