The Boston Celtics, who lost guard Brian Shaw to pro basketball in Italy, acquired veteran John Bagley from the New Jersey Nets for two second-round draft picks, in 1991 and ‘93, and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The 6-foot Bagley, 29, a former Boston College star who attended the Celtics’ preseason camp, has averaged 9.6 points and 6.1 assists a game in seven National Basketball Assn. seasons.
