Teledyne Inc.: The Los Angeles-based aviation and electronic products maker posted a profit of $78.7 million, up 2% from a year ago. Revenue rose 4% to $1.15 billion. The firm noted that the aviation and electronics segment continued to experience a substantial decrease in profit as a result of higher than anticipated costs on certain defense contracts.
