BACKGROUND

Byrne, leader of the acclaimed rock band Talking Heads, has immersed himself in Afro-Latin music. He’s compiled two anthology albums of Brazilian music and made a TV documentary about a Brazilian religion. His new album “Rei Momo” features backing by noted New York-based Latin musicians, many of whom are accompanying him on his first-ever solo tour.
