Helen Reagin of Ladera Heights shot 174 for 36 holes to defeat eight-time champion Faye Greens by one stroke and win the 13th annual Penmar Women’s Golf Championship. Rita Ahern won the first flight with a net of 141.
Other flight winners and their gross scores: No. 2, Betty Croft, 188; No. 3, Gini Walley, 199; No. 4, Hazel Avazian, 201.
Ryan Jamison of Mar Vista, a 6-foot, 11-inch basketball center at Loyola High School, intends to sign an early letter of intent by Nov. 8 and has narrowed his choices to UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, Loyola Marymount and New Mexico, according to the Loyola Athletics Booster Club.
