FALL SPORTS ROUNDUP : Moorpark Rolls to Second Tri-Valley Win
Robert Hernandez threw four touchdown passes to lead Moorpark High to a a 41-7 victory over St. Bonaventure in a Tri-Valley League game Thursday night at Ventura High.
Toussaint Powdrill caught scoring passes of three, 51 and 39 yards and also scored on a 33-yard run. Hernandez, a senior, completed nine of 11 passes for 133 yards.
Moorpark, off to one of its best starts, improved its record to 6-1 overall, 2-0 in league play. St. Bonaventure dropped to 1-6, 0-2.
Tony Upshaw rushed for 149 yards in 17 carries for Moorpark and scored on a 64-yard jaunt in the third quarter. Upshaw has 874 yards in 91 carries and has scored 13 touchdowns.
After a scoreless first quarter, Hernandez hit Jeff Cox with a six-yard touchdown pass and connected with Powdrill for two scores and a 21-0 halftime lead.
Moorpark had 384 total yards and held St. Bonaventure to 263. Chung Ho had two interceptions and Upshaw had one for Moorpark.
