COLLEGE ROUNDUP : George’s Two Goals Help Titans Beat UC Santa Barbara in Soccer

Steve George had two goals in the first half to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 3-1 victory over visiting UC Santa Barbara in a Big West Conference soccer match Friday.

Adam Lehner added a late goal for Fullerton (9-5-1, 3-2-1). Garrett Schwartz scored for Santa Barbara (6-6-1, 4-2).

In other Big West men’s soccer:

UNLV 8, UC Irvine 0--Visiting UC Irvine dropped to 2-11 overall and 0-6 in conference. Doug Borgell had four goals to lead UNLV (8-7, 3-3).

In nonconference women’s soccer:

UC Irvine 3, Cal Lutheran 0--Kacky Ovrom scored two goals and Dawn Evans one in the second-half for host Irvine (5-8-3). Alicia Miller had three saves at Irvine. Cal Lutheran is 4-9-1.

In Big West women’s volleyball:

University of the Pacific 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Krissy Fifer had 12 kills and Sharon Kasser had 11 as host Pacific swept to victory, 15-6, 16-14, 15-8. Tammy Miller and Susan Herman had nine kills each for Fullerton (6-12, 1-8). Pacific, the third-ranked team in the nation, is 18-3, 7-3.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s volleyball:

Fresno Pacific 3, Southern California College 0--Host Fresno Pacific swept, 15-8, 15-11, 15-2. Heather Frewin had nine kills for visiting Southern California College (8-14, 2-8).
