Bob’s Big Boy
While I realize that like so many other landmarks/businesses, the original Bob’s Big Boy will be demolished to be replaced by a mini-mall, it still makes me rather sad and nostalgic, having been raised on Bob’s famous “double-deck hamburgers,” thick malts and abundance of French fries, and cute waitresses! Furthermore, Robert C. Wian’s gamble (he sold his car to open the first Bob’s!) represented true “pioneer spirit” which made this nation great, and I can understand how he “feels perfectly lousy” about it.
At least there are still other Bob’s Big Boys to satisfy my appetite, but after all, this was the original. As long as the original Pantry and Pink’s Hotdog Stand stay in business, I won’t leave town.
