Elusive City Kitty Caught, Incarcerated

After a daylong attempt Thursday, Newport Beach finally bagged its cat.

An animal control supervisor got hold of the small cat believed to be the one that got stuck Wednesday between the walls of City Hall, Police Sgt. Andy Gonis said.

Elusive to the end, the cat avoided a trap set for it and was eventually cornered by animal control supervisor Bill Lyons.

Gonis said the cat was taken to the city pound, where it will remain while animal control workers will try to find its owner.
