Local : Driver Dies in Canyon Country
A motorist was killed today when her car went off a road near Canyon Country and overturned in a drainage ditch, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The name and age of the woman who died in the 6 a.m. accident in the 8000 block of Soledad Canyon Road were not confirmed, Sgt. Craig Klein said.
Klein said the motorist was driving west toward the Antelope Valley Freeway when she apparently lost control on a curve. The car went off the road and landed upside down, he said. Passers-by attempted to give first aid to the woman but she was pronounced dead after being taken to Palmdale Medical Center, Klein said.
