A man and a teen-ager were wounded in a drive-by shooting in Los Feliz, Los Angeles police said.

George Tupoljew, 26, was reported in serious condition Wednesday at County-USC Medical Center, where he was being treated for gunshot wounds to the chest, Detective Sam Jacobellis said.

Roberto Betancourt, 16, was also taken to the medical center to be treated for pellets in his chest and right hand but was released late Saturday, Jacobellis said.

Tupoljew told police that he had just left a party about 10:50 p.m. Saturday and was walking in front of Prospect Market at 4200 Prospect Ave. when a man in his late teens drove up on a motorcycle, asked which gang he belonged to and knocked him to the ground.

He said he then saw a car with several men pull up and heard a shout about a gang affiliation and several shotgun blasts. He said he then felt pain in his chest.

Betancourt told police that he went to the same party and was standing at Prospect Avenue and Talmadge Street when he saw the motorcycle stop. When he saw that the motorcyclist had a sawed-off shotgun, he turned to run back to the party, Betancourt said.

The teen-ager said he heard a blast and felt pellets hit his chest and hand.

No suspects have been identified, police said.
