Share

Three restaurants and a gas station will host car washes this weekend to help raise money for funeral expenses for Anthony Cataldo, 16, who was shot to death last Friday night outside an Alhambra hamburger stand.

Cataldo was apparently riding his bike when he was cut off by someone in a pickup truck. Angry words were exchanged and, a bit later, shots were fired from a passing car, said police, who do not think the incident was gang-related.

Friday , from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., friends and family will be washing cars for $3 at Arby’s, 429 E. Main St. Also Saturday, there will be a car wash from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mobil Gas Station, 1000 W. Valley Blvd.
