John J. Dorsey; Veteran TV Director

John J. Dorsey, 60, a veteran television director whose credits include “The Gong Show,” “New Treasure Hunt,” “The Newlywed Game,” “The Dating Game” and many more. He worked his way up in the industry starting as a page boy for NBC in New York. Dorsey came to Los Angeles in 1960, where he also directed many TV specials, among them the Grammy Awards shows, “Picasso: An American Tribute,” “Jazz in the Garden,” several Jerry Lewis telethons to aid muscular dystrophy victims and more.
