Score One for Donoho: KABC-TV’s “Monday Night Live With Todd Donoho” won’t have to “take a hike” any time soon. A U.S. District Court judge in White Plains, N.Y., has denied Financial News Network’s preliminary motion to stop KABC from airing Donoho’s weekly post-”Monday Night Football” show. FNN has charged that the show is a rip-off of its own “Time Out for Trivia,” a program Donoho hosted on the cable network before he moved to KABC last summer. In denying the preliminary injunction, Judge Gerard L. Goettel ruled that he had serious doubts about whether FNN could succeed at trial, but since he had only been presented with preliminary evidence, he whimsically added, “We do not tell plaintiff to ‘take a hike’ “--one of the catch phrases Donoho used both at FNN and now at KABC. FNN plans to continue the action against Channel 7.
