The Portland Trail Blazers can only hope the Lakers are not as good as they appear to be.

In less than a month, the Trail Blazers have played better than all but one of the teams in the Pacific Division.

The Trail Blazers made a big impression on the Seattle SuperSonics Sunday night at Portland. They built a 24-point lead in the third quarter then coasted to a 119-109 victory.

Terry Porter scored eight of his 20 points during the rally that helped Portland win for the seventh time in 10 games.

Only two teams have better records than Portland, but one of them is the Lakers, who lead the Pacific Division with an 8-1 record.

Houston 132, Miami 94--Sleepy Floyd, who lost his starting job when he failed to score in 27 minutes in the Rockets’ loss at Denver Saturday night, was better off the bench in this game at Houston.

Floyd had 23 points in 24 minutes to help the Rockets earn an easy victory.
