NAMES IN THE NEWS : Tom Hanks Unhurt in Collision
Actor Tom Hanks escaped injury in a minor nighttime traffic collision described by police as a routine “fender-bender.” Hanks, whose work in “Big” earned him an Oscar nomination, was unhurt after the collision in Brentwood Monday night, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Gary Lynch said. Damage to the two cars involved was minimal, Lynch said.
Lynch said he did not know if Hanks was driving at the time of the 7 p.m. accident on Anita Avenue near Sunset Boulevard. “Apparently it was so minor a report wasn’t even taken,” he said.
