Brothers Kris and Tim Kirksey, standout athletes at Camarillo High, have transferred to Simi Valley, according to Carl Thompson, Camarillo’s athletic director and football coach.
Kris, a junior, rushed for 670 yards in 115 carries as a sophomore tailback in just seven games. He injured his knee in the seventh game of 1988 and was unable to play this season. At the time, Kris said that he would use the time off to prepare for baseball season.
Tim, a sophomore, was a defensive back and quarterback for the Scorpions. In limited time at quarterback, he completed seven of 16 passes for 107 yards.
Thompson didn’t seem overly concerned about the Kirkseys’ departure.
“Oh, well,” he sighed, “they come and they go.”
