HOLLYWOOD PARK : River Master to Carry High Weight in $100,000 Affirmed
River Master, the Charlie Whittingham-trained colt who was beaten by winner and stablemate Live The Dream while finishing third in the Nov. 19 Hollywood Derby, has been high-weighted at 122 pounds for Saturday’s $100,000-added Affirmed Handicap at Hollywood Park.
Hollypark Racing Secretary and Handicapper Eual G. Wyatt Jr. pegged Flying Continental, the son of Flying Paster who has banked $310,250 this year, at one pound less than River Master for the Grade III handicap for 3-year-olds at one mile out of the chute.
Assigned 120 pounds was Mr. Bolg, beaten by a nose by Stylish Winner after a troubled trip in the On Trust Handicap on Thanksgiving Day.
Bruho, who threw rider Laffit Pincay Jr. when veering out in the On Trust, was weighted at 119 pounds.
