Share

Owners of 52 buildings constructed of unreinforced masonry will be required to bring their properties up to state earthquake safety standards within three years under an ordinance introduced Tuesday by the City Council.

City staff members conducted a survey of buildings in the city to determine those in need of reinforcement, and the list was approved by the council.

A public hearing on the ordinance will be held Jan. 9.
