Bluegills Active at Pyramid

Share

Pyramid Lake is recognized as one of the Southland’s premier striped bass fisheries. But while the striper fisherman may work all day for a single fish, those using mealworms at the dam are catching buckets of bluegills.

After a day’s fishing at the Los Angeles County reservoir, Percell Leob of Los Angeles got back to the docks and counted 75 bluegills, at about a half-pound each.

Freshwater

LAKE MEAD--Box Car Cove best bet for striped bass. Surface lures working in mornings, anchovies and shad during day. Other species slow.
