El Modena Wins in Three Overtimes
John Leedom converted a free throw with no time left in the third overtime to give El Modena High School a 70-69 victory over Troy Friday at El Modena.
Leedom was fouled as time ran out while grabbing a rebound.
The game went into overtime when Troy forward Richard Wesley hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds left in regulation to tie the score, 55-55.
El Modena guard Greg Gottlieb, who led all scorers with 20 points, hit a three-pointer at the end of the first extra period to tie the score at 60. The score was tied at 65 after two overtimes.
El Modena is 5-4; Troy dropped to 4-6.
