The Debate Continues: Is Miami, Notre Dame or San Diego St. No. 1?

As to which university is the national football champion, Allan Malamud says: “Miami. It’s simple. Miami beat Notre Dame and Notre Dame beat Colorado.”

Using that logic San Diego State is the champion: Miami lost to Florida State, who lost to Southern Mississippi, who lost to Texas Christian, who lost to Baylor, who lost to Rice, who lost to Hawaii, who lost to Wyoming, who lost to San Diego State.
