Los Angeles Port Police found the body of a Latino male in his 40s floating in the harbor Saturday near the Los Angeles Maritime Museum in San Pedro.

Sgt. Jon Hanna of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division said the body, which was fully clothed, was in about three feet of water near the shore in a docking area for harbor police boats.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death. No identification has been announced.

Hanna said a port policeman told investigators that he had seen the man before in a park area near the museum, which lies at the foot of 6th Street.
