Campanella’s Condition Is Improved
Former Dodger catcher Roy Campanella, who was admitted to Northridge Hospital Medical Center Dec. 30 with pneumonia and diabetes complications, is showing gradual improvement, a nursing supervisor said Saturday night.
Campanella, 68, a Hall of Famer who is a member of the club’s community relations services department, is listed in serious but stable condition. His condition was listed as serious Friday.
He is still in the intensive care unit and is breathing with the assistance of a respiratory machine, but he is slowly being taken off the machine, the nursing supervisor said.
