LA HABRA : Driver in Fatal Crash Also Dies of Injuries
A suspected drunk driver died early Sunday a day after he allegedly ran a red light and rammed his car broadside into another car, killing one person and injuring three others, police reported.
Jose Fragoso, 25, of Paramount died of his injuries about 1:15 a.m. at UCI Medical Center in Orange. He was admitted in critical condition Saturday with multiple fractures and head injuries.
The accident occurred about 1:45 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Imperial Highway when Fragoso’s car struck a vehicle driven by Marvin Olsen, 50, of Orange, who was hurt in the crash.
Dead at the scene was Joseph Carillo, 34, of Long Beach, a passenger in Fragoso’s car along with Mario M. Garcia, 36, who remains in critical condition at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.
Olsen and his passenger, Sherry Herring, 33, of Anaheim, were in stable condition Sunday at La Habra Community Hospital. Fragoso was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving.
