Driver Dies in Crash at Van Nuys Intersection
A76-year-old Van Nuys woman was killed when her car was broadsided in a Van Nuys intersection Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The driver of the second car, Paula Garcia, 32, of North Hollywood, was treated for a minor shoulder bruise at Sherman Oaks Community Hospital, Officer Ralph Kemptner said. Police said one of the cars apparently ran a red light, but they had not determined which one.
The dead woman’s name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
She was driving south on Woodman Avenue about 1:20 p.m. when the car driven by Garcia struck her vehicle, Kemptner said.
