The brunch held on Jan. 21 at the home of Hon and Celia Turner in Newport Beach raised an estimated $1,500 for the Alternative Repertory Theater. Celia Turner was the chairwoman.

The Tribute Dinner honoring Edward Olmos on Jan. 21 at the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa raised an estimated $175,000 for the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Maurice Lewitt was chairman; Dr. Sheldon Zinbert and Dr. Galal Gough were co-chairmen.

The Tribute Luncheon honoring Ygal Sonenshine on Jan. 21 at the Big Canyon Country Club raised an estimated $50,000 for the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The event was organized by the Orange County chapter of the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
