Super Bowl XXIV is far from the only game on television this weekend, with attractive events in golf, college basketball and hockey also scheduled.

Jack Nicklaus, 50, gets to pick on golfers his own age when he makes his Seniors debut in the Seniors Skins game, seen on a delayed basis today at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon on Channels 4, 36 and 39. The other competitors are Lee Trevino, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer.

In college basketball, No. 23 UCLA plays host to Pacific 10 Conference leader Oregon State, ranked 17th by the Associated Press, at 3 p.m. on Channel 2. A victory would give the Bruins a share of the conference lead.

The Kings, in the midst of a 1-7-2 stretch during a season fast proving to be the most disappointing in their 23-year history, entertain former teammate Bernie Nicholls and the New York Rangers tonight at 7:30 p.m with Prime Ticket telecasting the game live from the sold-out Forum.

Although the Lakers have the weekend off, their two closest Pacific Division rivals have television dates. The second place Portland Trail Blazers head into the Sports Arena to face the Clippers in a 7:30 p.m. SportsChannel telecast tonight. The National Basketball Association’s hottest team, the Phoenix Suns, face the Boston Celtics Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on Channels 2 and 8.

Oh, and the Super Bowl? Sunday at 2 p.m. on Channels 2 and 8.
