One of two deaf brothers shot during a run-in with a carload of teen-agers in a Granada Hills parking lot died early this morning, and police are looking for four or five suspects who fled in a light-blue four-door Hyundai.

Cesar Vieira, 30, of Palmdale died about 1 a.m. at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, police said. His brother, Edward Vieira, 25, also of Palmdale, was in good condition at the hospital.

The men were shot after they had a dispute about 7:45 p.m. Sunday with a group of teen-agers on Devonshire Street. One of the teen-agers pulled a gun from the car and shot both men, police said.

The brothers were riding a motorcycle and were apparently forced into a parking lot in the 16800 block of Devonshire Street by a car containing the young male suspects, Los Angeles Police Lt. Harvie Eubank said.

The subject of the dispute was still under investigation. Eubank said it was unlikely that the brothers, who communicated through sign language, could understand what the youths wanted.
