NFL, NCAA Discuss Undergraduates
NCAA Commissioner Dick Schultz met for 2 1/2 hours Friday with representatives of the NFL to discuss reports that as many as 40 undergraduate football players may be turning pro this year.
Jay Moyer, executive director of the NFL, said that was the main topic of discussion in the Chicago meeting.
“We have one common feeling in the room today and that is the importance of these athletes staying in school and completing their education,” Moyer said.
Moyer said no agreement was reached.
